A few weeks ago, I posted about a little gift exchange fun that I was taking part in called Swapoween. It’s basically a little event where bloggers get paired up, get to know each other a little better, then send each other a care package full of Halloween-themed goodies. Halloween + New Bloggy Buddy + Surprise Gifts….so fun, right?! I loved the anticipation of not only finding out who my partner would be and making a new blogger friend, but also thinking of things she would like…..and of course opening up my surprise goodie box! It was like a Halloween-themed Christmas in October. :)
I was lucky enough to be paired with Meghann over at Becoming Books….it’s a great little blog about Young Adult novels and her tag line says it all: “A place where reading is more than a verb.” Check out her site for great reviews, features, and giveaways!
Alrighty, now on to the good stuff….
My Swapoween Reveal!
Yesterday afternoon, my doorbell rang and I had a strong hunch as to what was just delivered. Much to my surprise though, there were TWO packages, both from Meghann….double goodies! And the cute Halloween stickers on the box were such a nice touch, don’t you think? I’ll have to remember that for next time….
After racing to open them both up and reveal their contents, here’s what I found waiting for me inside!
- Chocolate-covered Oreos
- Two packages of gourmet popcorn, one of which was Cookies’n’Cream flavored (she obviously read my About Me page) :)
- Three little jack’o’lantern baggies filled with chocolate bars
- Super cute cupcake wrappers
- Some Nightmare Before Christmas hot cocoa
- A couple buttons with her blog info
- A book for The Cub (super sweet!)
- A very nice hand-written card
The Hubs and I have already started devouring into the delectable treats that Meghann sent us. Those chocolate-covered Oreos are just OMG and the Cookies’n’Cream popcorn is out of this world! It might very well be on its way towards becoming my new favorite snack. And The Cub was very much into his new Halloween book during his nightly story time session before bed….it was so sweet of Meghann to throw that in for him too.
The Goodies I Sent to Meghann:
I of course had to return the favor, so here’s what I included in Meghann’s package (I hope she likes them!).
- A mini Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin candle
- Some “Vampire Blood” Wicked Plum hand soap
- Orange orange-scented nail polish (let me know if you can actually smell any oranges, Meghann!)
- A personalized tumbler filled with chocolate bars
- A vampire mug that I added a vinyl saying to
- A Box of Boogers (it’s just candy!)
- Some skull socks
- Jack-o-lantern & candy corn sticky notepads
I figured Meghann probably can’t find too much stuff with her name on it, so I decided to personalize a tumbler for her in Halloween colors (plus, it’s not like I really need an excuse to bust out my Silhouette!). I just love the little polka dots, but ooooooh buddy, was that layering vinyl for her name a pain in the pumpkin!
I also found this super cute vampire mug, so I slapped a little saying on the side in vinyl….I think it goes pretty well given her passion for reading. :)
This was my first time taking part in a blogger swap, and I have to say I’m hooked! I’ll definitely be doing this again. If you’re a blogger and would like more info, make sure you check out Chaotic Goddess Swaps….they do a whole bunch of different kinds of swaps throughout the year, not just for Halloween. Their next swap is for The Twelve Days of Christmas, and signups are from 11/3 to 11/10!
Thanks so much for stopping by! If you enjoyed what you saw here today, please share the love and pin it! And I’d love for us to stay connected!

Wow- it's like she filled a box of trick-or-treating goodies for you, without you having to go door to door. Nice! I lovelovelove gourmet popcorns like that. And how sweet she got your wee one a softbook, too!
Also, I had no idea you could decorate things with vinyl like that! Fantastic!
Thanks to both of you for participating in the Swapoween this year!
