It’s fall, y’all! Woot! This is the second fall that we’ve been in our new home, but last year we didn’t do any decorating….we were real buzzkills. This was thanks to the arrival of our new little man, so needless to say, I just didn’t have the time or energy to get the house in festive shape.

This season, however, it’s game on! Since there are no longer any needy newborns in the house, I could focus my attention on decorating….which is way more fun than dirty diapers and spit up, let me tell ya.

The best part….all of my front porch fall decorations came from Lowe’s! Yep, the same store that you probably think of for lumber, nails, and toilets also has some really nice, trendy, and affordable Harvest and Halloween decor that can whip any home into shape this season.

Here I’ll show you how I was able to partner with Lowe’s and create our very own festive and welcoming fall front porch!

Fall Front Porch Decor: Our Happy Harvest at Home!

Like I mentioned, this is the first year we’re decorating for the season, so I decided to go with a traditional route…I didn’t want to scare the {newish} neighbors with anything too wild or out there. I’d like for them to think we’re a nice, normal family for as long as possible. ;)

Plus, since I’m a busy mom of two young boys, I can’t be running all over town picking things up here and there. It needs to be a one-stop shopping trip, not break the bank, and the decor needs to have a long shelf life.

Lowe’s had more than enough decorations to choose from at very reasonable prices (and since my husband is an Army veteran, their 10% military discount was a big help too!). A traditional fall Harvest theme (as opposed to a Halloween one) was just the ticket, and now we’re good through Thanksgiving!

Pumpkins, mums, cornstalks, leaves, pinecones….what’s more traditional than that?! Now our front porch not only screams “FALL,” but it’s also amped up our curb appeal to the nth degree. It’s just the welcoming and inviting vibe I’ve always dreamt our home would have.

Silver and Gold…errr….Pumpkins and Mums

When I first started brainstorming ideas for what to do with our front porch this fall, I knew I wanted lots of pumpkins and mums framing our steps. Luckily, Lowe’s has a wide variety of colors and sizes of both to choose from.

The deep red, two-tone orange, and yellow mums almost guide you up to our door, and they add a nice POP of color (plus, they include those cute baskets…hooray for decor you can reuse next season!).

{Side Note: If you’re out shopping for mums with your husband and he happens to be anything like mine, be prepared for him to say “Mum’s the word” over….and over….and over….the whole time. *Sigh* He thinks he’s sooo clever….}

And no fall decor is complete without the traditional orange carving pumpkins, amiright?

You Don’t Have to ‘LEAVE’ Us Alone!

I didn’t just want to decorate the steps though, so once you reach our front door, the fall festiveness continues!

More pumpkins (both the traditional orange kind as well as some of the assorted Autumn Couleur variety) flank the door on either side, and a leafy doormat lays in between. I also have some cute ornamental pumpkins and gourds displayed as well….they’re just so tiny and adorable.

And is any house really a home without a wreath on the front door?? I think not. I’m a serious wreath and door hanger connoisseur, so y’all know my fall front porch decor is going to include one!

I just love this Holiday Living Artificial Thanksgiving Lights wreath that also came from Lowe’s. It features faux leaves, pinecones, feathers, cattails, and colorful berries, and it really complements the other elements on our porch. And for being artificial, it looks surprisingly realistic.

Family of the Corn(stalks)

Our home is located in rural Alabama, and we’re surrounded by farmland. Scattered around us are fields growing all kinds of crops, especially cotton (we are the Cotton State, after all) and corn.

We therefore just had to include a couple cornstalks as well….guess you can call us corny! Ha! Ok, bad joke….

They look so great standing tall against the red brick on the either side of our porch, and the height they provide gives some nice contrast to the short mums and pumpkins.

I am just over-the-moon in love with how our front porch looks this season! I fully admit that every time I check the mailbox or drive to/from home, I just stare at it. Sorry, I can’t help it! The colors just draw me in. Thankfully, Lowe’s made it easy to get the festive fall look in one trip and for not a lot of money. You can’t beat it!
