I have a new Santa Baby this year!  Yep, my second son arrived in early October, so this will be his very first Christmas.  Special for all of us, indeed.

Since he’s already one cool little dude, and because he has a ton of hand-me-downs from his older brother, I decided to whip up some holiday gear for him.  After all, he’s got a crafty mom who loves glitter HTV.  Keep reading for all the details on this festive homeboy baby garb! [Read more…]

If you’ve been following along in these parts, you’re probably aware that I recently gave birth to my second son.  Yep, early October brought us another bouncing baby boy (!!!), and since his momma here is a crafty gal, I of course had to put my Silhouette Cameo to good use and whip up some cute onesies for him!  I’ll look for any excuse to slap vinyl on something.

Creative Ideas for Capturing Baby’s Milestones

If you’re a frequent visitor to these parts (thanks!), you probably know by now that I am a HUGE lover of creating keepsakes for my son.  As my Project Gallery shows, I am a keepsake junkie, for real.

They are such nice ways to not only capture all those milestones, but also (and probably more importantly) to remember those special moments from your little one’s first days, months, and years.

Because time goes by way too fast, I want to try and document [Read more…]

Spooktacular Monogram Onesie for Baby’s First Halloween + GIVEAWAY!

Folks, I’m about ready to pop with my second son….as in it’s just over three weeks from my due date!   EEEEKK!  While I’m in full-blown nesting mode and STILL trying to finish his nursery, I’ve also been working on creating some cute little outfits for him to rock.

I hadn’t yet discovered the wonderful world of Silhouetting when I was pregnant with my first son, so he missed out on a lot of mom’s craftiness during his first year.  Poor fella.  However, thanks to him having a TON of plain white onesies left over that we packed away in storage, I’ve got plenty of material to give his brother some totally rad gear. Back-to-School Bedtime Routine Tips (To Keep Your Family Sane)

Any parent of school-aged kids can probably tell you some stories of their struggles at bedtime.  Hey, it’s happened to all of us.  Tantrums, arguments, backtalk, feet-dragging (literal or figurative)….if you haven’t experienced a bedtime battle, consider yourself one of the lucky few!

Bedtimes can get even more challenging when it’s back-to-school time.  Schools in our area return in early August, so the starting-school-in-the-dog-days-of-summer transition can be extra eventful where bedtime is concerned (“But Mom, the sun’s still up!”). [Read more…]

Printable Heat Transfer Vinyl 101 + HUGE Font & Graphic Giveaway!

I love a good colorful vinyl project.  I mean, who doesn’t?  Let’s face it though….sometimes the prospect of cutting out lots of different colored pieces and then layering them all or aligning them juuuuust right is a little too much work.  I freely admit that my laziness sometimes often overpowers my creative spark.

However, there is one product available that allows me to be a little (or a lotta) lazy and STILL get my craft on, resulting in just as much adorableness with much less effort….printable heat transfer vinyl!! [Read more…]

My son just turned three and I CANNOT BELIEVE IT.  Where has the time gone??  I’m sure that’s how every momma feels about their growing little one, but geesh.  Slow down, will ya!

One of my favorite things that I’ve ever created (besides my growing-too-fast little man, of course), is the family growth chart ruler that I made right before his first birthday.  And since he just celebrated another birthday, it was time to update it with his current height AND picture!  [Read more…]

So, like I shared a few months ago, WTSHB is expanding!  Well, in a way at least….I’m having another baby! :)

Yep, come October, we’ll be adding a newborn to our family.  I’m so excited, but still a wee bit nervous because this time around, I’ll also have a three-year-old who has so. much. energy.  More long nights and no sleep are in my future….hopefully I’ll be able to throw a blog post together now and again! *wink*

My son just finished up his very first year of preschool.  *sniffle*  While Momma here is a wee bit sad at how fast her little man is growing up, I still had an ounce of excitement for the end of the school year to arrive because….that meant I got to create teacher gifts for the first time!

Yes, I can be both a sentimental mom and an excited crafter.  It’s allowed.

Some Exciting News To Share: WTSHB is Expanding! Sort of…. ;)

Hey, friends!  I know things have been rather sporadic in these parts lately.  My apologies!

It’s just that 2016 has been quite busy for our family, and unfortunately this ol’ blog has kinda taken a backseat for the time being.  First, we started moving into our new house on New Year’s Day, then two weeks later we got some even bigger news: [Read more…]

Race Car Valentine’s Day Cards with Free Printable

My son had his very first school Valentine’s Day party yesterday, and Momma here was definitely way more excited about it than he was!  I mean, he’s only two, so he doesn’t get too excited about anything other than Blaze & the Monster Machines, M&M’s, garbage trucks, and puppy dogs.

I, on the other hand, couldn’t WAIT to make the little Valentine cards for him to pass out to his classmates and teachers!  Just another excuse to get my craft on.

Since Rowan is all boy and totally [Read more…]

Zoo-Themed Birthday Chalkboard Poster

My little niece just turned TWO!  I can’t believe how fast she and my son are growing….time slow down!  I love dabbling in Photoshop and creating digital designs, especially chalkboard posters (that’s why I started my All Things Chalkboard series).  So just like with her and my son’s first birthdays, I created this zoo-themed birthday chalkboard poster to help celebrate the occasion.

These posters also act as the sweetest keepsakes to help remember all the little things from these years….and keepsakes also hold a special place in my crafty heart (I’ve got lots of them in my Project Gallery). [Read more…]

DIY Thankful Chalkboard & Easy Chalk Hand Lettering Cheat!

You know what I realized not too long ago?  I don’t have ANY Thanksgiving decorations!  I know, what kinda craziness is that!  We’ve got Halloween and Christmas fully covered, and I have some generic fall items, like my shabby chic ‘Happy Fall’ door hanger and my ruffled felt candy corn pumpkin, but nothing that screams THANKSGIVING.

Thankfully (haha, did you see what I did there?), I came up with a quick and easy solution to [Read more…]

Perfectly Imperfect Fall Family Photos in the Neighborhood!

First off, a big shout out to the folks at Little Tikes for sponsoring today’s post!  All opinions are of course still 100% my own.  A couple years ago, we had some professional photographs taken of our new little family. Rowan was just a chubby little four-month-old who couldn’t yet sit up by himself and was sprouting a tiny faux hawk (so cute!). He stayed where we put him, smiled at flashing musical toys and our silly faces off camera, and the whole session was rather stress-free. The photos were taken in early October with beautiful fall foliage, and our images were nothing short of stunning.

Fast forward two years and we now have a nonstop GO toddler. Seriously, this kid [Read more…]
